The obscure Object of Desire. I received it a week ago, installed an e-book reader (beware, this must be the slowest website in the universe: it took me two hours to download their 30MB desktop application!), a French phrasebook (it talks), Twitterrific (of course), and - well, a torch: Light. I'm certainly not an Apple-Nerd, but the new iPhone is the best thing since sliced bread. Honestly.
