Please see the list of shipping companies with images of timetables/sailing lists on this site. Among the images are also some of covers or contents of other printed memorabilia like brochures or booklets describing the companies or the liners. If you are looking for a specific ship you can go to the list of ships. You can also check the updates page. Finally, if you still don't find what you are looking for, please check the archives section (which lists additional brochures in my collection) or use the search engine.

For Z & Q. About time, and I'll do the colour version later, when I'm not as lazy as I'm today. Still waiting for Zoe's next podcast though - I've actually asked some serious questions, which I hope Q will be able to answer.

Well, most probably not, but I'm definitely looking forward to those beauties pictured below. They should be on the Royal Mail website pretty soon to order, I hope.

What a weekend. Yesterday I had to work on some design stuff for a client of mine, and today I spent the whole day sorting out photos and scanning negatives, fanzines and flyers for a new book project. A few examples below; I'm looking forward to the publication.

Right, Parker was (and still is) here in London, talking at this conference called Under The Influence. Well, he was fab, obviously. We'll meet up again in Soho tomorrow for some more beers. And I got interviewed by some people with a real camera and a real microphone and I sincerely hope it'll never show up anywhere on the web.

I got this book when I was 12 or 13 years old. It has the wonderful and simple title Horror and was published in Germany 1971 by Deutscher Bücherbund, mit Genehmigung der Goverts-Krüger-Stahlberg Verlags GmbH Stuttgart. With 77 illustrations by Günther Stiller.

The book is a compilation of short stories written by Frank Belknap Long, Robert Bloch, H. G. Wells, Eric Frank Russell, H. P. Lovecraft, and others. Nothing too serious really, nothing to suggest a 12-year old will go bonkers after reading the book. It's just a book after all.
But the illustrations. They freaked me out. In fact, they scared me shitless. Those creepy illustrations by Günther Stiller. They gave me the most incredible nightmares ever. I think those illustrations were one of the reasons why I eventually went to study Graphic Design.
Of course, looking at them now, this sounds incredibly stupid. However, Stiller's illustrations are still amazing, and they don't look like a simple cut and paste job of old Victorian illustrations. In fact, I think those are all painstakingly cut into lino.
I couldn't find much about Günther Stiller on the web. There's a tiny entry on the German Wikipedia: [...] "und Günther Stiller u. a. Stiller gehörte in den 60er- und 70er-Jahren zu den experimentierfreudigen Buchkünstlern. Er arbeitete mit Linol- und Kunststoffschnitten sowie Laubsägearbeiten oder zeichnete direkt auf die Offsetplatte, wie er es bei seinen mehrfarbigen Illustrationen für Kinderbücher getan hatte." Perhaps one of my readers can help out? M. Kranz probably?
What follows now is a selection of a few of Günther Stillers 77 illustrations for the book Horror, which scared me so much when I was a kid. I hope I won't be sued for any copyright infringement; the book's from 1971, and is probably still available via eBay, Amazon or ZVAB. But I doubt Günther Stiller will ever see any money coming from those sales.
One question remains though: who on Earth is Günther Stiller?

Dear Progressive Governance Summit, what a nice new logo you've got! I wish I had done this. Alright, they've changed it now, but the designer who came up with the idea must have had lots of fun. Via Stef; also Guido Fawkes.

All my bones are connected by copper wires. That doesn't mean you can go ahead and steal them. I still got my old Vikings' axe right next to my left shin bone. So you know.

I find it extremely amazing (and telling) that my STABILO OHPen 196P (Marker/pen for overhead slides, waterproof) from 1983 (stolen from GGK Düsseldorf ad agency), now used exclusively for the labelling of CD/DVD ROMs, still works. In fact, it's fabulous and still generates pure black lines and writing. As you can imagine, I've been using it frequently over the years. Contrary to the five STAEDTLER LUMOCOLOR 313 permanent pens, which I bought 2 years ago and which are all dried out now. What's that supposed to tell us? I don't know. Although I do, actually.
Does anyone know if those STABILO pens still exist? I'm too lazy to google. Thank you.

For her project "Postcards", 2007, Katerina Drzkova systematically collected postcards from the 1960s to the 1980s. They are never identical. The pair "Tropical Beach" differs in several details and a time shift of a few minutes is apparent. [...] From the fabulous vvork weblog.
