Thanks to this BBC article and then, after some serious googling, I came across those three downloadable versions of the UK Highway Code 1931, 1946, and 1954. Fabulous. The links go straight to the PDF files, which are all about 30MB in size, but if you're brave enough to stand the horrible music, here's the website where they came from. Oh my goodness me, those good old times! Well, better carry on now. Mustn't complain.

And now even the distinguished Swiss Metablog writes about the Alisher Usmanov/Craig Murray/Bloggerheads fiasco. This is truly becoming an international affair; so where's Napoleon Solo when you need him? Apart from that, according to Chicken Yoghurt, 251 blogs are writing about this rather unpleasant incident with more joining in by the minute. Those lawyers really should know that you cannot shut down the internet; in fact, Craig Murray's 'defamatory writings' can now be found all over the planet, hosted on Swiss and US servers and God knows where else. Well done; I think the storm has found its way out of the tea cup now.

Welcome to the Shackleton Centenary Expedition website.
We are the descendants of Sir Ernest Shackleton's band of Antarctic explorers.
In 2008-09 we intend to follow in our ancestors' footsteps, and recreate the 1909 Nimrod Expedition, originally intended to be the first mission to the South Pole.

But I wouldn't have paid forty quid for four people who only play 30 year old songs anyway. Instead I'm going to see Alabama 3 on the 7th of October. Zoe, thanks!
