Built like a Panzer. The most magnificent keyboard in the whole wide world, the TactilePro 2.0. I've ordered it almost a year ago, and finally it arrived. Looks like some sort of a production bottleneck somewhere. Anyway, I'm really happy now. This toy is amazing. Definitely the best keyboard ever. I'll start writing a book right now.

Biology. A collection of historic and modern biology books. 140731 scanned pages from 448 books. Amazing. I thought I've blogged this before, but can't seem to find it anymore on my own blog. Now how weird is that? Dementia slowly creeping in, probably. Anyway, this comes via the Arno Schmidt Mailing List.

The Cartoonist talks to George Parker. The Cartoonist Talks.jpgThis time I'm talking to George Parker, who has been working in the ad business for more than 678 years. He's a copywriter who used to be an art director in the early 60s, and he's won several Cannes Gold and Silver Lions, Clios, Effies and whatnot. Before I get carried away, read his official bio:

George Parker has more than 30 years of agency experience with prestigious Madison Avenue firms such as Ogilvy & Mather, Young & Rubicam, J. Walter Thompson and many others. He is the winner of hundreds of advertising awards, including Cannes Gold and Silver Lions, Clios, Effies and the David Ogilvy award. His blog AdScam was named one of the four best advertising blogs in the world by Campaign Magazine.

I had the pleasure of getting drunk with him in a pub on Tottenham Court Road a fortnight ago. Which should be reason enough to listen to this podcast.

You can download the podcast here or subscribe directly via iTunes.

George and I talk about the current state of advertising; about his book, about logos, and about clients and presentations. Enjoy.

And now for the usual links:

The commercials were stolen from YouTube/Retromercials and the fabulous RetroJunk website. The background noise, reminiscent of Darth Vader, is courtesy of my fabulous operators' chair, a swinging 60's model from the waiting room of a dental practice. No advertising agents were harmed during the production of this podcast. Copyright © 2007 by Ralf Zeigermann and George Parker.

Bruichladdich and the Consequences. All I did was posting a series of photos of myself having a wee dram in the garden. Well, first I got linked by the Bruichladdich distillery blog. And then by the Islayblog. Wonder what's next? Most probably my humble self travelling all the way to Islay. Me thinks I'll have to get another bottle of Bruichladdich for the weekend.

And now enjoy some pictures of mods cruising down Oxford Street.

Sketchbook time again. This spread is from January; looks as if the really cheap Moleskines are actually a great surface for markers. By the way: all my proper Magic Markers were stolen; in fact Ben conveniently forgot to gave them back to me when I moved from Hamburg to the UK. So I'm using Copics now. But Magic Markers were the best. And they still are.
