You may or may not know that I once wrote and illustrated a book. In fact, it is a novel, although nowadays you may want to call it a Graphic Novel; however, I'm still tempted to refer to it as a 'proper' novel. Just because it's illustrated doesn't automatically make it a Comic Book, does it? The book's title is Antarktis Expedition 1931/32. Das Tagebuch des Peter Ludwig Fall. A few sample pages can be found here.It was published in October 1986 by Greno Publishing Company, hardbound, came in a black slipcase and is long out of print; this was an edition of only 999 numbered copies. In case you're interested in the book, try your luck at ZVAB or eBay. Just key 'Zeigermann' into the search engine mask and Bob's your Uncle. Because even a graphic novel doesn't write itself over a weekend, I thought it might be interesting for my regular readers or anyone just passing by to see the actual research that went into the book. As a matter of fact, it took me a year getting all the materials together and another year writing and drawing the damn thing. Greno paid me all in all 6000 German Marks for the book, which isn't a lot for 2 years' of hard work. But hey - it's a really nice book and even after all these years I can still brag about it, which is the main thing. See my Flickr Set with typescript variations, newspaper clippings and other stuff here. You may or may not be interested at all. Thank you for your attention.
