Housekeeping on a Bank Holiday. The Roper will return next week with his 51st adventure / I'm no longer updating the archives of this weblog - it's too much work and besides, you can always navigate via the calendar on the top right or simply use Google Search if you are looking for a certain entry, or anything at all / Check the dirty.ru Russian weblog - I wish I could read it, it must be fab. I was never really good at deciphering Cyrillic, in fact, my Russian is a bit rusty. / The same goes for the Polish makowski & pepe. Fab weblogs.

The Designer's Tools [7]. A battered typometer. For some unknown reason you can't get them here in the UK. Guess I've got to order new ones from Germany? Mine's covered in scalpel marks.

London. In my opinion, the best book about London is David Piper's The Companion Guide to London. My (German) edition is a bit dated, as it's from 1981, but still a fascinating read - and actually much better written than the new, and by other authors revised editions. More about Sir David here.

The Designer's Tools. [6] The Swann Morton Scalpel 3L, fitted with a No. 11 blade. The small ones are actually much better, but you look very cool, macho, and impressive when cutting typesetting/meat/things/photos with one of those. For some weird reason I really love scalpels.

This page is dedicated to the extensive fleet of Dennis Lancets operated by Aldershot & District Traction Company Ltd. in Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex both before and after the second world war. Lancets are basically busses. And as much as I adore those old thingies, I actually prefer those. Or this one. Or that.
