Go Away. I'm still incredibly busy creating 3D renderings for a series of book covers. Have a look at this, this or that instead. Or this.

In May 1968 France experienced a political and social upheaval that shook the regime to its foundations. Student unrest in the late 60's was a world-wide phenomenon, fuelled by American protests against U.S. involvement in Vietnam and by sympathy for Latin American revolutionaries such as Fidel Castro and Che Guevarra.

Rant. This is your New Year's Rant, as performed by The Cartoonist (I'm a bit edgy - stopped smoking about 4 days ago and feel like something the cat brought in):This!!! Of course, is not the real copy for this adv! ertisement. The real words will be WRITTEN! once you have approved the headline!!! Rest assured, the words will expand the concept!!!! With clarity. @£o&*! Conviction. And even a little WIT. Because in today's competitive !!!! marketing ENVironmENT, the body copy of YOUR! advertisment must lead the reader through a series of disarmingly simple thoughts. All your SUPPorting arguments must be communicated !!!! with simplicity and charm. And in such a WAY! that the reader will read on. (After all, that's a reader's job: to READ, isn't it?) And by the time %&*)!@¢¡¶º[^] This was my rant towards the new year. Thank you.

The Seven. Sandsmuseum ist one of the oldest and best websites about the Lotus Super Seven. The layout has changed over the years, but it's still fab. And there's lots more to discover. And by the way: the new official Prisoner Magazine is now available at all UK newsstands. It comes with a DVD of episode 1, 'Arrival' and a 'Your Village' map. Well done. And while we're at it, check out the Caterham photography archives at imagevaults.

And Another One. I really don't know why I keep stumbling about those particular sites lately. Whatever. Some more of the 'Girls and Dragsters' art genre: John Bell, Hi Octane Art. Really nice stuff; if he ever does one with a Lotus 7 in it, I might even order a signed print.

Cut & Paste. The German graphic designer Klaus Staeck.Klaus Staeck is the "elder statesman" of post-war European political montage. If anyone has taken up the mantle of John Heartfield and single-mindedly devoted himself to the cause, it is Staeck. He is a man of many parts: lawyer, politician, organiser, publisher, author, and television contributor, but most of all, he is a political artist. For over 30 years he has made posters. In the tradition of early agitprop, he has taken his art onto the streets with postcards, stickers and flyers. And here's his homepage.

The nineteenth century was the age of clubs, each with its own building resembling a stately mansion where gentlemen smoked, drank, ate, read (in libraries or news rooms), gambled, played billiards, and socialized among their peers. Members were elected (or not--that is, blackballed) and clubs members often had common political or recreational interests.

The goal of this site is to assist practicing cartographers with the presentation of relief on maps. The articles and tutorials that follow cover 2D shaded relief, 3D panoramas, and other types of raster map art. Using mostly graphics software and free data, I developed the techniques to support my work as a cartographer for the US National Park Service, Harpers Ferry Center.
