Nostalgic Viewing. Reminisce This recalls the golden era of the late 20th century...namely the three decades that helped define our lingering memory of that period, the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.

This is almost Funny. Trouble is, it's not really: Armin is still being pestered by TV Licensing. And he hasn't got a telly. Believe me, the bureaucracy here in the UK is worse than it ever was in Germany. Or - well, at least at the same level.

In 1966, at the age of 16, I started work as an apprentice to a printing company in South East London called Gilbert Whitehead & Co Ltd. They had been in business during the late 1800's and had printed many of the Pear's soap advertisments and prints that were popular at that time.

Birds and Fashion. An archive of 1960s ladies' fashions at The Electric Swinging Pussycat Lounge. Groovy. Via Things. Which reminds me - when am I going to get my order? If you haven't cashed the cheque yet, there's a good chance it may bounce now - I'm a freelancer. And not really successful at that.Ha! Received things 17-18 in the post this morning. Great and highly recommended.

Advertising's Hall of Fame. The biographies, quotes and ads of people like David Ogilvy, William Bernbach, Howard L. Gossage and many more. And it's all compiled and designed by students, which makes it even more interesting. Great website.

Salsa Kraftwerk. Kraftwerk Salsa. Senor Coconut plays Salsa. Not any Salsa though - he covers songs by Kraftwerk, for example. Great music. Thanks to Quarsan for the CD, thanks to Zoe for the raclette and thanks to Todd for the Marzipan (Great night in Brussels, although Rocky misbehaved). Here's Senor Coconut and Showroom Dummies [MP3, 3.8MB].

And Again. Off to Brussels for the week. And yes, the sculpture on the left is Jeanneke Pis, right in the centre of town and usually surrounded by dirty old men in raincoats. Mind you, the Belgians do have a strange kind of humour. Picture pinched from this website. See you next weekend, God willing.

My first language is Japanese. On this page, I will explain the Japanese language. I am not a professional teacher of Japanese. So, I will do my best to explain the language, and hope that you understand. I will explain the basic outline of Japanese on these pages. The purpose of these pages is to increase your interest in Japanese. Also quite interesting: Traditional Custom in Japan.

The Contents of a Box. I can't help it, I like this sort of stuff: My Brother was left this box and its contents by our Great Uncle Arthur. This section of the site shows some of the items he found in it.More on time capsules here, and while we're at it, why not quickly generate your own time capsule (triple fab!).

Them Moleskines. Call me a preposterous twat, but I like those little note and sketchbooks. And I've been using them for years now. 43 Folders has some nice Moleskine Hacks and there's more at moleskinerie. Actually not via Mark, but I just noticed he linked to those obscure objects of desire as well. So there you go.

In 1992, a small group of Doctor Who fans within the television industry approached the BBC's Television Archivist with a view to securing funding for a unique project:- the experimental restoration of a monochrome Jon Pertwee story back to its original colour form. So successful were the test results that the BBC Archives and BBC Video co-funded the restoration of three complete stories for transmission and video release.

The Starfleet Museum. The Starfleet Museum was established in 2213 with the goal of preserving historically important Starfleet ships for future generations. Our Orbital Annex currently houses more than 50 historically important vessels. In addition, hundreds of historical artifacts tracing the history of manned space flight are on display at the Main Museum Complex. The Starfleet Museum invites you to pay a visit now that you are in the Sol system.

Roland Topor. He certainly was another one of those giants: actor, author (do I really have to mention The Tenant here?), cartoonist, illustrator, painter. The official website seems to be under construction, but a few parts are working; a Polish website with lots of his etchings can be found here. And a short profile in English is here.
